Christmas Baking Playlist
Christmas is my favorite time to bake. And to keep me going I make a Christmas music playlist to listen to. The songs keep me going and make Christmas baking more fun. I have a playlist I have used for a few years on my Google Music account (now YouTube Music).
This year I started a new list when I started using Amazon Music. I started adding to the list in October so I would be ready for December 1. (I recently started using Amazon Music because I have the ease of streaming music from my phone, tablet, fire stick on my TV or my echo devices and they have lyrics that show up on my Echo Show.)
Being able to stream music from my Amazon and Google devices gives me the ease of hands free. When I am baking, my hands get full of flour, chocolate and whatever else I am working with, so hands free music is a must for me.

Why make a playlist?
I know there are many stations on the radio that play Christmas music exclusively during the month of December. So why make my own list? Having a playlist of songs keeps me going.
No commercials is one of the reasons. Radio stations have to play commercials, it’s how they make money. But I hate listening to ads, especially when I am baking. I prefer to have continuous music to keep me going.
Another reason is I don’t have to listen to songs I don’t like. (I’ll be honest, All I Want for Christmas by Mariah Carey will never be on my playlist). I only have songs I like. And if I don’t feel like listening to a particular song on my list, I can skip it easily with a simple “Alexa, next song” I can also easily add a new song at any time with a voice command.
I also like to have familiar songs because I like to sing while baking. I am sure my kids wish I wouldn’t but I have always loved Christmas music and many songs on my playlist bring back memories of Christmas with my parents and family who are no longer with us.
Every year my list gets longer. New songs are released, older songs are discovered.
So what’s on my Christmas song playlist?
My Christmas playlist consists of many genres of music. There is a lot of Country Christmas music from Dolly Parton, Alabama and Carrie Underwood, but also many songs by the cast of Glee, Bryan Adams, John Legend and Michael Bublé. And there are some songs that you may not know exist like Twisted Sister’s Heavy Metal Christmas. I also have different versions of the same song because each artist adds something different to the song when they record it. That is the fun part about Christmas music, everyone makes their own version.
Below is what is on my list at the time of this post:
