Who needs to go to a bar to enjoy a fancy cocktail when you can make a quick and easy cocktail at home? Tropical Lagoon is a cocktail that you can enjoy at home with only a few easy-to-find ingredients. This cocktail is refreshing on a hot summer afternoon or evening, to sip by the pool or on the patio. These turquoise-coloured cocktails will be a hit at your next girls’ night or beach party.
What is in a Tropical Lagoon Cocktail?
This cocktail has a total of four ingredients along with lots of ice. There are two kinds of liqueurs, juice, and soda.
The first liqueur is Malibu Rum. The original flavour is coconut and that is what is used in this cocktail.
Blue Curaçao is the second liqueur and it helps to get the drink the colour it is, adding sweetness and flavour.
Next is pineapple juice. It adds flavour and mixed with Blue Curaçao, it creates the turquoise base of this drink.
Topping it off is lemon-lime soda. When added slowly into the drink it sits on top, creating faded colours and a clear look at the top of the cocktail.
The combination of the soda’s citrusy tang and the tropical flavors creates a harmonious blend that is both satisfying and thirst-quenching.
Tips For Making This Cocktail
Using hurricane glass gets the best results for the layered look of colours. The shape of the glass seems to hold the soda at the top making the cocktail almost ombre.
If you prefer less ice, Freeze lemon or lime wedges to add to the finished cocktail. They will help keep your cocktail cold without watering it down.
How to serve Tropical Lagoon Cocktails
When it comes to this cocktail, our go-to for serving these are hurricane glasses. Because of the amount of alcohol in the drink, a larger glass allows for more soda to top it off. It is also a good way to add a lot of ice, especially on a hot day when you want a really cold cocktail.
We like to garnish this cocktail with a wedge of lemon. But you can also garnish these cocktails with pineapple wedges, a lime wedge, maraschino cherries, or a combination of any of these on a skewer, either inside the drink or on top.
