There are seven herbs and spices in this recipe and you probably have them all on hand.
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Oregano
- Thyme
- Cayenne Pepper
- Chili Powder
- Paprika
Add oil, salt, and pepper and you have amazing potatoes that are full of flavour and healthier than deep-fried potatoes.
Prepping the Potatoes
Before cooking the potatoes, it is important to soak the potatoes for 15 minutes in cold water. This takes some of the starch out of the potatoes. Soaking the potatoes is what helps to get them crispier when they are cooked.
The potatoes will also need to be patted dry after soaking. Dry potatoes will produce a crispier end result as well. The oil used to coat the potatoes won’t stick as well to a wet potato and the little amount of oil is what will help get the potatoes crispy in the air fryer.
Serving Air Fryer Fingerlings
These potatoes are great as a side dish. We serve them with sandwiches and burgers.
We also serve them as an after-school snack or while the kids are doing homework.
Our teens like to make these when friends come over. It’s a great snack for watching movies. They also love these as a snack while playing games with friends, like Cards Against Humanity. And the recipe is so easy, they can make these Air Fryer Fingerling Potatoes by themselves.
They are great on their own or with a dip. Our favourite dip for these fingerlings is our Homemade Chipotle Sauce.
Air Fryer Fingerling Potatoes

- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 1 pound fingerling potatoes
- 1½ tsp oregano
- 1½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp ground thyme
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 3 Tbsp grape seed oil
Instructions
- Cut fingerling potatoes into quarters, lengthwise
- Soak cut potatoes in cold water for 15 minutes
- Drain potatoes and pat dry
- Mix spices together and sprinkle over potatoes
- Drizzle in the oil and toss potatoes to coat
- Preheat air fryer at 400°F for 3 minutes
- Place potatoes in a single layer in air fryer and cook for 8-10 minutes, until golden and crispy, turning after 5 minutes.
- Serve immediately
