Ingredients For Strawberry Malibu Slush

To make this frozen cocktail, all that is needed are four ingredients.

  • Frozen Strawberries. Sliced frozen strawberries work best for this recipe because they blend faster and more evenly than whole strawberries.
  • Malibu Rum. Original Malibu rum is what we usually use, but we have made this cocktail with strawberry and pineapple Malibu rum.
  • Coconut Water. With or without pulp, choose your favourite coconut water to make this cocktail.
  • Lemon Lime Soda. Regular or diet soda can be used for making these. Our choice is usually Sprite, but 7-up works as well as generic brands.

Can This Cocktail Be Made Without Alcohol?

Yes, this strawberry cocktail can be made into a mocktail. Simply omit the Malibu Rum and replace it with coconut water.

When making this cocktail with and without alcohol for entertaining, we usually like to use either different garnishes or glasses to distinguish the difference between the two.

Equipment For Making This Cocktail

The only equipment needed to make these cocktails is a blender. A measuring cup is also handy to measure the ingredients.

For the blender, it can be a personal sized blender like a Magic Bullet, which is handy for making individual drinks. Or a regular sized blender to make 1-4 servings depending on the size of your blender.

Easily Make This Cocktail Into A Pitcher

This frozen cocktail is great for sharing and even though the recipe makes only one cocktail, the recipe can be easily doubled, tripled or more.

When serving these for company, we usually make a quadruple batch and serve it in an ice cold pitcher. Pour into individual glasses at the table.

Garnishes For Strawberry Malibu Slush

There are a number of ways to garnish these cocktails.

  • Add a fancy parasol or umbrella.
  • A colourful straw.
  • A lime or lemon slice.
  • A strawberry on a skewer laid across the top of the glass.

Can These Cocktails Be Made In Advance?

Because these cocktails are made from frozen berries and are meant to be a slush, they won’t stay frozen if made in advance. These are best made and served right away.
