Ingredients For Strawberry Oreo Cheesecake Cups

There are simple and easy to find ingredients in this recipe.

  • Cream cheese. Full-fat cream cheese works best for this recipe. Take the cream cheese out of the fridge and bring it to room temperature a few hours before making this recipe.
  • Powdered sugar. This sugar does need to be sifted to break up any lumps before adding to the cream cheese.
  • Vanilla Extract. Clear vanilla extract works well in this recipe and is our pick but dark vanilla can also be used.
  • Whipped Cream. This can be homemade whipped cream or Cool Whip (thawed).
  • Oreo Crumbs. We use Oreo baking crumbs. Crushed Oreo cookies can be used as well.
  • Butter. Melted butter helped make the bottom crust of the cheesecake cups.
  • Strawberry Pie Filling. Either canned or homemade will work in this recipe.

Substitutions For This Recipe

Strawberries aren’t the only fruit that can be used to make this dessert. Cherries, blueberries, raspberries or blackberries can be substituted for the strawberries.

The Oreo base can be swapped for graham cracker crumbs, crushed Golden Oreos, vanilla wafers, or any other cookie of your choice.

How To Serve Cheesecake Cups

This recipe makes 6 servings in 6 ounce cups. We like to serve these in glasses and when serving for a BBQ, we will use recyclable plastic cups. This makes for easier clean up and we don’t have to worry about glassware getting broken outside.

Smaller cups can be used to make more than 6 servings. Usually we will use 3 ounce cups to get a dozen servings. Even the smaller servings are rich enough to satisfy after a BBQ meal.

A bamboo spoon to eat these is a great alternative for outdoor entertaining.

Can This Recipe Be Made In Advance?

Yes, this recipe can be made in advance. Make them the night before serving and store them in the fridge.

The cream cheese filling can also be made the day before and refrigerate until ready to assemble.

Decorating Cheesecake Cups

When serving these at a BBQ party or potluck, I like to add a fresh mint leaf to the top of the cups for colour. I also add a fresh strawberry with the stem in the centre of the top of the dessert.

A drizzle of chocolate syrup can also dress these up a little.

Storing Strawberry Oreo Cheesecake Cups

Any leftover cheesecake cups can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
